| Super Wildcat II
The Steiger Super Wildcat II was offered by Steiger from 1974 to 1975. This 200 hp 4wd came with a naturally aspirated Caterpillar 3150 V-8 in its first run of production and then a Caterpillar 3208 V-8. Early models had yellow engines and latter series took on a black engine that was a standard on series III Steigers. Wildcat II's had a their air conditioning mounted on the front of the cab and their hydraulic reservoir mounted on the rear of the cab. Larger Steigers had these features styled under their sheet metal. Steiger offered the Super Wildcat as an ST-200 and RC-200. ST stood for Standard model and RC for Row Crop Model. A key difference between the two models were their transmissions. The ST models came with Dana-Spicer 1010 mechanical 10-speed oil cooled transmissions while the RC units came with Fuller TA4510 mechanical 10-speed oil cooled transmissions. There were a variety of different paint schemes on the Series II Steigers. Some had a two tier black grille while others had a black grille with the second tier in green. Some had Steiger name across the second tier when it was green others did not. Because Steiger was a small independent tractor maker at the time these variations may been a day to day factory decision during production. C&D Models has offered a 1/64 scale Super Wildcat II kit since 1998. These kits are spun cast and assembled and painted by you. They can be set up with singles or duals. In March 2002 the Toy Farmer Magazine in conjunction with Ertl offered its the Super Wildcat II as its 6th 1/32 Steiger in a series.
