TR 98 Combine

A successful harvest is measured by many factors. Total Harvesting Capacity is not only the ability to put more quality grain tank in less time, it's also a measure of how little grain you leave in the field and the condition of the sample when the harvest is done.  The TR 98 Combine, featured New Holland's patented Twin Rotor design, offered the ultimate in low grain loss.  Grain is quickly separated by the rotors up front and then dropped directly onto the grain pan - allowing grain and chaff to begin separating immediately. The action of the two rotors distributes grain evenly over the entire width of the pan.  Finally, greater centrifugal force generated by two smaller diameter rotors and rotary threshing separates grain thoroughly, although gently, for less grain damage. The Twin Rotor combine offers flexibility for farms with a variety of crops, whether it be switching from corn to beans in a harvest day or to rice the TR 98 only needs a few adjustments. The TR 98 is powered by a 270hp engine and has the power to handle a 12 row corn head or 30ft grain header. In July 1998 Ertl released a 1/64 TR 98 with interchangeable, snap on 8 row corn head and 22ft grain head. The 1/64 TR 98 remained in production through 2002 when it was replaced by the 1/64 CR 960.  Ertl never offered a TR 99.
