Tractor Jumbo
At first sight the New Holland TJ 4wd is very similar Case IH STX Steiger. It is one of the first common platform machines from Case-New Holland. The designation letters TJ stand for Tractor Jumbo series. Pictured below is a sneak peek at the TJ 440 on a tractor trailer just before its official release in July 2001. The TJ has a New Holland Genesis style hood with the head lights on top of the grille while the CIH models head lights are on the bottom. The fenders are a more rounded wheatland style compared to the STX Steigers . The New Holland 4wd will not have tracks. It will have the Mega-Flow hydraulics while the STX will not. The TJ's will have different transmission available as well. The TJ line up includes the TJ275, TJ325, TJ375 and TJ440. In August 2001 the TJ440 was replaced by the TJ 450 and the TJ 425 was added to the New Holland 4wd line. Scale Models offered a 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 scale TJ 375 is the fall of 2001. In the spring of 2002 Scale Models offered a TJ 450. The above TJ 440 was scratch built by John Schomburg from an Ertl STX 375.
