This is first tractor that I bought when I started collecting
in 1982, pulling the Deere drill and the Brillion packer. A little more
tractor than the drill needs, but being my first tractor after I got into
collecting has always made it a favorite. Back then Ertl did not label
John Deere tractors or Combines with model numbers, with the thought it
could be any model on "Dad's" farm. It is a John Deere "4440." I picked up
the custom Brillion packer at a toy show because it seemed like a nice
 addition for my collection.

Ertl has made a lot of great toys over the years and the detail is always
getting better. The Case IH MX 220 is another favorite of mine. It has
many nice details including a hood that lifts up
so a toy farmer can service the engine.
