4wd Tractors - 9000 Series
The largest tractor series from John Deere to date are the 9000 series that
were released in August of 1996. The 9000 models are the 265 hp 9100, 310 hp 9200, 360 hp 9300 and the 425 hp 9400. These models are influenced by the Deere owned New Orleans based Cameco Industries. Cameco produces 600 hp 4wds for the overseas market, sugar harvesting equipment and the John Deere 4700 self-propelled sprayer. The new body style allows for the hood to rise at the push of a button. Similar to the 8000 2wd tractors, the new 4wds have the CommandView cab with side door entry. Dual and triple tires are
available. Ertl offered a 1/16 collectors edition 9400 in 1996. Today this tractor brings $199 to $230 at toy shows. Ertl also first offered a 1/64 9400 with triples in 1996.
