UNI Modular Harvesting Systems

In the field, the Uni modular harvesting concept is a powerful tool. First introduced by Minneapolis Moline in 1958 and later perfected under the New Idea name the UNI system allows farmers with a number of choices for harvesting any type of crop. With the chopper component , the UNI can process corn and hay forage for feed, with two picker units available the machine can be used to harvest seed or sweet corn and with the combine unit small grains and feed corn can be harvested. The UNI System can also be used for row crop work such as planting corn and spraying.  The last UNI power unit offered was from White/New Idea in the late 1980's and early 90's. The 803C had a 234 hp engine. Today the Byron Corporation of Byron, NY offers a similar model for harvesting vegetables like green peas, beans and sweet corn.  In 1985 Scale Models offered a 1/32 scale 20th Anniversary New Idea Uni-System Combine in orange.  In 1985 Scale Models also produced a 1/32 gray 800C Uni-System Combine with a collectors insert and a gray 800c Uni-System Sweet Corn Picker.
