New Idea Super Picker
New Idea's Super Picker series was the most popular pull type corn picker in the declining market during the 1970s and early '80s. It featured reduced shelled corn losses by using either a 2 or 3 row corn head for the snapping unit. Some farmers with good corn cribs or a livestock operation preferred to stay with ear corn. Seed corn producers also favored harvesting with out shelling for better seed quality. In 1982 New Idea stopped producing pull type pickers due to the popularity for combines. New Idea continued to offer its self propelled Uni-Systems with a picker unit for seed corn through 1989. Standi Toys makes a 3 row pull type corn picker in 1/64 scale with New Idea colors. TM produced a 1/16 scale New Idea 1 Row Corn Picker.
