National Farm Toy Show Display Contest Held in conjunction with the National Farm Toy Show held at Beckman High School in Dyersville, Iowa on November 1, 2, and 3, 2002.All results and pictures coming to TTS soon There were 16 displays total in the competition. 14 of the 16 were 1/64, while the other two were 1/16. Most all the displays were just awesome, and are easily the some of the best I have ever seen. Judging was tough. Only the top four displays were awarded placement. While the others received participant awards. First Place- Terry Spahr with his 1949 snap-shot of a PA farm from his child-hood days, which included 1/16 buildings with an amazing 4ft x 6ft hand crafted barn. Every little detail didn't go unnoticed. Second Place- Adam Sunkten with his outstanding 1/64 night display of a IA crop/beef farm, with most all the machinery having lights. Third Place- Warren Ehrisman with his trophy like display of 1/64 customized 4wd tractors from around the world, with tractors such as the Lioness, Lely, Baldwin, Raba Steigers,ACO's,Big Bud 747, etc.. Fourth Place- Jonathan Klawonn with his 1971 1/64 snap-shot of the area with which he grew up in. He had wonderful hand-built barns and houses, and some very interesting equipment like his early MM Uni-harvesters, and JD planter. Most of the rest of the displays competed fiercely for the top spots, and are in the top of their league with the hobby. By John Schomburg
