Movable 3
PT. Hitch Instructions Tools and supplies needed. Safety glasses or goggles Drill or Dremel tool with chuck and 1/32, 1/8
drill bits. Side cuts, Needle nosed pliers Paint (Music Wire) Axle rod ( 3/32 or 1/8 depending on rim dia.) & 1/32 X 3 spring steel wire Determine
if the tractor you want to use is suitable for a raisable 3 pt.
Look at rear of tractor and hold hitch to it. Does the tractor have an
area where you can drill a hole through it for the hitch to pivot and also have
an area where you can drill a hole to hold the hitch in a raised position? If
you think it does then remove the rear wheels. Using side cuts, trim off the
excess on the 4 lift arms and center top link as pictured, until the hitch fits
as desired. Do this a little at a time so you dont remove too much. Square
and level hitch.
Drill a 1/32 hole in the lower lift arms of the hitch
making sure they are in line with each other. Hold hitch by quick hitch and bend arms so they fit snug
against the sides
of the tractor.
Position hitch on tractor to see where to drill hole for pivoting. Drill a 1/32 hole through side of tractor as pictured. ( At Lower White dot Locations)
Cut 1/32 wire into 2 pieces, one approx. 1 in long. Using needle nosed pliers, bend one end of the shorter piece 90 degrees as pictured
CAUTION: Hitch is made from a soft
bendable pewter to allow for
a snug fit to tractor. Excessive bending could
cause pieces to break off. Do not bend any more than is necessary. Position 3 pt onto tractor lining up the holes and
insert shorter rod. Hold 3 pt in raised position on tractor and drill a 1/32
hole through right side of tractor and upper lift arm of hitch as pictured. (
White Dot ) Ream the hole in the tractor and the hitch so the pin will
fit easily. Remove hitch and paint hitch and rods. When completely dry - reinstall hitch with short rod. Bend
end of rod to hold in place. Trim off excess rod.
Insert shorter end of remaining rod through lift arm and tractor at the
upper hole. If desired, bend other end as shown above so it will lay in front of
center hook and not be as noticeable.
