Mike's Collection

I started collecting farm toys and customizing them when my  mom bought me a R model Mack model kit for my 11th birthday. For Christmas I got the BJ. Mckay Aroedyne Cabover K.W. model kit. Why' I was putting them together, I was thinking it would be nice to have a truck collection. This is how  my collecting started.  All thanks to Mom.

Over the next few years I've collected about twenty-five model kits and 100+ Tonkas, Nylint, Structo, Buddy L trucks.
In 1989 my brothers friend ask if we would like to go to a toy show ? I had never been to a toy show, so we went along. I saw toys that we never dreamed of. There were trucks, tractors, machinery, dolls, games, models and many other things. I bought some trucks and farm machinery  at the show. My brother John bought two John Deere tractors an un-styled A and D. This is how our 1/16th Two cylinder toy collection was started.

John and I started going to three local toy shows in Ripon, Markisan, Waupan, Wisconsin. We collected various IH and JD tractors and machinery. John was at the Waupan toy show in 1993 and stumbled across the WA17  1/16TH four wheel drive and purchased it. I called home about a weak later as I was on wheat harvest to ask how the show went. John said that he bought JDWA-17 [Trumn]. We discussed the idea of collecting four wheel dive tractors and agreed to the idea. Today in our collection we have about 450 tractors, 300+ are four wheel drives. We collect all sizes and brands.

The pictures are of our 1/64th fourwheel drive display. There 109 tractors on the display . The backdrop is the east
gable end of our neighbors milk house. I helped take the barn down so I could get the boards I need to do my display. I had that idea when my neighbor ask me to help work on the barn.
