New Toy News

AGCO

The MF 1500 4wd was selected by Toy Farmer Magazine as the 27th Annual National Farm Toy Show Tractor. The nicely detailed 4wd is will be the second 1/32 NFTS tractor in the new line of collectors 4wd. In 2003 Toy Farmer began a new tradition in collecting NFTS models with the introduction of the 1/32 John Deere 7020.  To learn more about the National and the 2004 tractor visit www.toyfarmer.com.

Ertl has done an outstanding job on both the 1/32 and 1/64 NFTS 1500. Both models offer cab windows, weather stripping around the glass, bolt on duals and a rear 3pt hitch. The detail on the 1/64 model is so good it is hard to tell the two 4wds apart in close up pictures.  Pictured to the right is the 1/64 version.  To learn more about Massey-Ferguson 4wds visit www.bigtractorpower.com/masseyferguson4wdhistory.htm.

Ertl will offer an Allis-Chalmers Two-Ten with Duals  for the 2004 Summer Toy Show.  This is the first time the Two-Ten has ever been offered.  Show Information:  June 4, 5 & 6, IOWA, Dyersville: 19th Annual Summer Farm Toy Show. Hours: Fri. 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sat. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sun. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For info call (563) 875-2727.  You can also visit the National Farm Toy Museum’s website at http://www.nftmonline.com

The Toy Tractor Times 1973 Allis-Chalmers 7030 is set to arrive on May 1st.   This model will be sent to customers by UPS to ensure speedy delivery in early May.  For more pictures of 7030 and its box visit http://www.toytractortimes.com/2003ttt.htm

The latest AGCO Precision is Precision #10 Oliver Super 77.  The Super 77 is a narrow front gas model.

Scale Models has introduced the new Massey Ferguson 6480 with MFD in 1/16 scale.  In has a insert stating: “New Product Intro January 2004” Limited Edition

The organizers of the National Allis-Chalmers Collectors Show known as “The Gathering of the Orange” wanted a stand out model tractor to commemorate their 2004 show. Spec-Cast was able to produce one of the rarest one of a kind Allis-Chalmers of all time with its new resin casting.  To learn more about this tractor read Doug Harke's Variations article in the March 2004 Toy Tractor Times at www.toytractortimes.com.

Spec-Cast keeps rolling out nicely detailed AGCO Heritage tractors.  The latest model is the Oliver 770.  This piece offers great detail with flood lights and a life like engine block.  In January Spec-Cast released a detailed Oliver Super 77 and Minneapolis-Moline U.

The classic AGCO models with detail are rolling out of Spec-Cast in 2004. The newest 1/16 crawler from Spec-Cast is the Jet-Star 2.  Spec-Cast will produce a 1/16 die-cast metal 2 Star for the 2004 Toy Truck ‘N Construction Show hosted by the Toy Trucker & Contractor Magazine. The show will be held August 20th -22nd at the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Buhler Versatile

Scale Models is working on a 1/64 Buhler Versatile.  This new model will use the blue New Holland 84 series casting with some updates including the traditional Versatile colors.   The 1/64 Buhler Versatile 4WD will come in a box with decals for you to put on to create which ever modern Versatile you would like including the : 2240 = 240 hp, 2270 = 270 hp, 2310 = 310 hp, 2360 = 360 hp, or 2425 = 425 hp.  This new red model is due out in late spring.

CaseIH

In the late spring Ertl will release a Farmall set including the 100,200, 300 and 400.  This set helps commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Farmall Hundred series from International Harvester.

CaseIH's new 1/64 STX 500 Steiger with dual tires is out now at dealers.  This model offers the 500 revised exhaust system.   The new 500 hp 1/64 replica will help cover your display acres in record time this spring.

CaseIH's new 1/64 STX 500 Steiger with tracks is out now at dealers.  Interestingly the STX 500 with tires has a tan interior where the Quad-Trac version has a red seat in the cab.  Is this a variation?????  Both models are packaged in the new Ertl card showing the tractors specifications on the back.

CaseIH has a big 1/16 surprise in store for collectors this spring with a new 1/16 STX 500 Steiger paired with a 1/64 chromed STX 500.

Ertl has a 1/32 European version of the AFX 8010 combine in the works. The new Euro AFX will be released in the United States later this summer and will only have a wheat header.

Steiger #8 in 1/32 Toy Farmer Series is a Wildcat II in Construction Yellow.  During the 1970's Steiger offered its 4wds in both its traditional lime green and in industrial yellow.

In 1/16 scale Ertl has a new version of the collectors edition MXU125 with cab windows out. This version features the LX156 loader exclusively for the 2004 World Pork Expo Farm Toy Show at the Iowa State Fair Grounds on June 10-12 2004.

The last in the original CaseIH Precision series dating back to 1990 is the Farmall MV High Crop Precision #20.  This model is packaged with a poster showing all 20 CaseIH Precisions.  A new Precision line is in the works and no doubt Ertl will kick off the new series with an extra special CaseIH historical model.  It may be a model celebrating a landmark anniversary in 2004.

Late this summer a Limited Edition Precision  “50th Anniversary IH Farmall 400 with  a 34-455 4 Row Front Cultivator & Rear Tool Bar Cultivator will be available at participating CaseIH dealers.
-  1/16th Ertl Precision with Collector Medallion
-  Front Cultivator Raises & Lowers
-  This will be a Very Limited ONE-TIME Production Run …( Not part of the Numerical Series)
- Very Similar to the 50th Anniversary Allis Chalmers WD-45 Gas they did last Year

John Deere

John Deere entered the ATV in 2004 and Ertl has the new Buck in 1/16 scale and 1/32 scale.  You should be able to find both new toy models at participating John Deere dealers.

The European John Deere 7920 is Ertl's newest 1/32 tractor.  This model will look great with the 1/32 Frontier Grain Cart coming from Ertl later this year.

The new shelf edition John Deere 9760 STS is at participating John Deere dealers now.  This model follows the high detail 9860 STS released in December 2003.

March Top 10 Question And Answer by Bill Walters RC/Ertl Farm Toy Manager
TTS-Times Special Feature Top 10
Bill Walter from RC2/Ertl was on hand at the Lafayette, Indiana Farm Toy Show to show several new Ertl farm toys and take collectors questions, ideas and comments. These were some of the common questions Bill took and answered at the show.
#1.  When is the next Prestige unit coming out?   Our current plans have new Prestige combines being introduced in 2005.

#2.  When will the next Lawn & Garden Precision be announced?  Will it be a Cub Cadet?  We are working on the flyer for the next Lawn & Garden Precision which should go out this Summer.  No, it will not be a Cub Cadet.  We no longer have a license to produce Cub Cadet replicas.

#3.  What are your plans for the 1/32 & 1/64 vintage MF 4WD tractors introduced at the Lafayette Show.   We will be doing the model 1500 MF tractor as the Toy Farmer show tractor for the National Show.  Our current plans are to offer other versions, including the 1800 and 1505/1805 as versions for AGCO dealers.  When we have more definite plans, we'll let you know.

#4.  Where's the John Deere air seeder?   This project is being worked on now and we should have something late in the year.  We didn't get this project started as soon as we should have, and there has been a delay.

#5.  What will we see new for AGCO?  What can you tell us?   Obviously we'll be doing a version of the Allis Chalmers Two Ten for AGCO dealers in 1/16th. I also received information that we can do a Oliver 1750 from our 1950T tooling.  We'll be investigating this.   I also believe I remember a request for a 1/64th AC tractor with Hiniker Cab.  We're working on this.

#6.  Can you give us an update on 1/32nd?  For John Deere we have the 9880STS combine, SP Forage Harvester, grain cart and vintage 4020.  For Case IH we're doing the European AFX, and a couple more items I can't divulge yet.  We've been asked to produce a 1/32nd NH TG tractor which we're exploring.  There are more items, but I can't tell you yet.

#7.  What is new in construction?  We've already announced a new 1/50th JD bulldozer, wheel loader and log skidder.  Expect to see additional new models this Fall from JD.  We've also finalized agreements with Case to produce two new units for late 2004/early 2005.

#8.  With the JD 6030 coming out, what versions and other models are planned for older JD tractors?  Our JD 200th birthday series of tractors include a unstyled "BW", 4520 w/Hiniker Cab (With cab glass), 4020 w/WF and JD cab, and the newly tooled 830 two cylinder tractor.  We also have a modern JD tractor in the works as well.

For the 6030 we are tooling both engines and the correct stacks for both versions. The smaller horsepower 6030 actually had stacks as you see on the prototype.

#9.  What about new 1/32nd Precisions?  Nothing planned for 2004, but we do have 2 units for 2005 if all plans work out.

#10.  What else can you tell us?  It was nice to talk to everyone.  We try to look at the messages every day, so keep giving us feedback.  Just remember whatever you wish for today, might not show up for a year or two.
