National Farm Toy Show Display #6

Jon Sampson placed sixth at the 2001 National Farm Toy Show. Jon created a 200-300 acre farmstead in the rolling hills of Iowa.  The farm raises corn, soybeans, alfalfa and beef cattle. The display was nicely arranged with classic John Deere equipment that would fit the budget of a small modern farm. The cows are grazing in a detailed pasture complete with burrs and tree stumps. Jon built hills and slopes through out the display.  The fields a green with mid-summer life as as a John Deere 2510 sprays the bean crop with a modified 20ft Kent sprayer. Just up the field two Deere's are busy mowing and stacking hay. The hay was created with model tree foliage. The corn field was built by placing hundreds of green tooth picks in rows. The farmer is cleaning out the bins in anticipation of the falls bounty. Notice the old corn crib has been modified with steel shielding to hold grain. All of the old picking equipment has been retired to the shed and a John Deere 95 with a 13ft draper platform and 4 row corn head is the main harvester now.
