New Generation Combines

In 1969 a new breed of Deere Combines was introduced. The 3300, 4400, 6600
and 7700 had a similar clean appearance with engine relocated to the front
of the grain tank and the cab moved off center. The engine was completely
enclosed , with a large front screen. A reverse-flow engine fan pulled air
through the screen and discharged it through side, beyond the radiator. The
cab was integrated into the design of the combine, resulting in reduced
noise and dirt for the operator. The 104 hp, 112 bushel 6600 combine
featured here was Deere's all time best selling model with 5,451 units sold
in 1973. In the 1970's ERTL offered a 1/16 6600 with several variations.
