Home Up Big Blue Tractors Ford 672 Chopper

Ford 670 Forage Harvester

The 1970's can be considered the golden years for equipment manufacturers. During the 70's the big OEMs all offered full lines of tillage planting and harvesting equipment. As the 1980's approached many tractor makers found their brands slumping and spun or sold off their equipment lines or just dropped them. Ford was one of the companies who offered a full line in the 1970's and then slowly reduced its offerings of equipment until it purchased Sperry-New Holland in 1986. Ford offered a forage harvester from 1972-1977. The 670 was a 2 row corn head machine that fit well with the Ford 9600, 9700 and TW-20. It was produced by the Ghel Company along with a mower conditioner, square baler and round baler for Ford.  It the choppers latter years of production it was offered as model 672. Robert Turk a Ford fan customized an Ertl forage harvester casting to create a Ford 672 for his 1/64 collection.
