This ranch is modeled after a couple of different ranches in the Mason Valley of Yerington, Nevada. If real it would be about a 20-40 acre main ranch. The rancher would be raising Hay and some grain and corn. He would be leasing out fields to a local onion farmer on rotation years to replenish the soil with fertilizer. Then after 2 years the fields would be replanted with Hay. The entire operation would be 3000 acres of farmland with 10,000 acres of permitted grazing for cattle and sheep.

This shows the main livestock area of the ranch at the south end of my home site portion of the HomeStake ranch. Between the house and the livestock pens is part of my grain and feed storage.  The livery stable building just south of the house is the antique tractor storage shed, as well as a portion of the big red barn which formerly was a dairy is also is used for tractor storage.  The House is a modest 4 bedroom but with a 4 car deep garage. The detached garage south of the house is the rancher's Hobby workshop for rebuilding and restoration of Autos as well as where the rancher keeps his pickups. The shed attached to the rear was recently constructed for boat storage and a recent purchase of a WWII restored Military jeep. The buildings and corrals north of the house are for Horses. The building just west of the corrals is the maintenance shop for the ranch.  The area north of the maintenance shop is the storage area for the construction equipment which is the rancher's other business.  The buildings in the west corner of the photo are the equipment Machine sheds.

This shows the south end of my Homestake ranch farmyard. There is a pig feeding operation at the back of the photo. In the foreground is my dairy feeding and maturing barn (red barn). The pole barn in front of the hog operation is my ranch hay storage barn, and just north of that is my squeeze pen and loading ramp for cattle transport.

This photo shows a better view of the machine sheds and the gray building at the north end is my combine storage and maintenance shed.  The brown barn northwest  of it is my hay equipment storage  shed for winter storage of my custom haying equipment.
