CNH represents a family of brands that have shaped the history of agricultural equipment. The CNH heritage includes the combined legacies of J.I. Case,  Fiat, Ford, International Harvester, New Holland, Steiger and many others.  In May 1999 Fiat purchased 70% of Case Corp's stock to bring the company into partnership with its New Holland Agricultural line. In November 1999 CNH Global was formed. With so many strong brands combined under the Case-New Holland umbrella the tradition of innovation runs deep throughout the roots of the company. Over the course of the last 170 years CNH's brands have lead the way in creating the future of agricultural mechanization. Cyrus McCormick's reaper invented  in 1830 started CNH's legacy.  This reaper would serve as the impetus for the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, formed in 1848. This company, which led to the creation of International Harvester in 1902, would go on to pioneer the first dealer distribution channel, the first full-line product offering implements, tractors, harvesting, hay, the first diesel wheel tractor in the U.S., and the first axial flow combine. International Harvester’s signature product, the famous Farmall tractor, was a pioneer for row-crop tractors. Jerome Increase Case was also making his mark on agriculture in the mid-1800’s. In 1842, Case founded his "Racine Threshing Machine Works" on the strength of his innovative thresher. By the 1970's J.I. Case was know world wide for high horse power tractors and construction equipment. Abe Zimmerman started New Holland Machine in 1895 and by the 1950's New Holland was the industry leader in grassland farming.  Henry Ford was a farmer at heart and in 1917 he created Henry Ford and Son to produce inexpensive hard working tractors. During the 1920’s, 75 percent of U.S. farms used a Fordson tractor. By 1966, Ford Tractors were number two in sales worldwide. Douglas and Maurice Steiger who wanted a bigger tractor in the late 1950's decided to build one. With the "solve your own problems" attitude the built the brand that has been best known for over 30 years as the 4wd tractor industry leader.  In 1990 Fiat a long time European tractor maker acquired Ford-New Holland to form New Holland.  The spirit of innovation has been a driving force behind the growth of CNH's companies over the years, and is one of the common elements that has unified them today.  Today CNH is combing the success and strength of brands on common platforms. Below you can read about CNH's most recent innovations.
The TG series is the latest row crop tractor from New Holland.  The TG traces it roots from the Genesis tractor and is ground in CaseIH engineering for the 21st century.  The TG is unique from its cousin the next generation Magnum code named MU8.  TG's use SuperSteer FWD axle which gave new meaning to tight turning. TG Models include the TG 210,170 hp,  TG 230, 190 hp, TG 255, 215 hp, TG 285, 240 hp. Powerful New Holland 8.3-liter engines provide up to 56% PTO torque rise to give you enough lugging power to do any job in a range from 170 hp to 240 hp. Each TG has a programmable 18x4 full powershift. TG's use SuperSteer FWD axle which gave new meaning to tight turning. The SuperSteer axle turns up to an angle of 65 degree. Also, this "best in class" turning radius allows you to make "a simple turn at the headland on 30-inch rows with an eight-row implement. The standard 2WD axle and FWD axle also provide excellent maneuverability: 55 degrees for the standard 2WD axle, 50 degrees for the standard FWD axle. Front duals are now available on the TG 285 and TG 255. Another New Holland only option is closed-center load-sensing (CCLS) hydraulic system delivers 38.6 gpm flow as standard equipment with the optional Megaflow for a total of 68 gpm. The TG series from New Holland will set a new standard for power, comfort, and effortless operation.  The workhorse TG285 is powered by an 8.3-liter turbocharged engine that is air-to-air intercooled, and produces 240-horsepower. An industry leading 56% torque rise and up to an additional 30-horsepower makes it ideal for the heaviest chores you can dish out! The TG series from New Holland will set a new standard for power, comfort, and effortless operation.

MXM 145 based from the New Holland TM 145

CaseIH JX Series base from the New Holland TL series

Case IH continues to provide products that satisfy farmers needs with the strong line of tractors. The MXM Series replaces the Maxxum line in 2002.  By combining superb power, performance, durability and comfort into each tractor, the innovative MXM platform enables operators to work more productively and more profitably. Whether a farm grows corn and soybeans, small grains or specialty crops, these tractors will help operators get more out of every hour. With  tractors from 100 to 190 horsepower, there's a MXM Series tractor for every farm. Superior maneuverability and performance make the MXM deluxe tractors ideal for livestock operations. Plus, serious power and remarkable hydraulics make the big MXM 145 and MXM 190 perfectly suited for tillage, planting and cultivating applications. CIH will replace the C  and CX series tractors with the JX and JUX line based from FIAT designed tractors. The current MX Magnum line will also be upgraded soon with more horse power, a new draft sensing hitch that takes the bumps out of field work and a new front end suspension system unique to the Magnum line. The new MX Magnum line will include the MX 210, 230, 255 and 285. In 4 years CaseIH may introduce a 310 to 320 hp Magnum that articulates between the engine and cab like the 2+2.

The AFX series is the latest generation of Axial-Flow technology. While the rotor remains the same, CaseIH found plenty of room for innovation elsewhere.  Improvements include the new AFX rotor, less belts and chains, more hydraulics and an inverted rotary air screen which gives engine a natural air flow. The AFX Series will offer exceptional performance. These machines deliver more horsepower, more productivity and more comfort than ever before.  The top new CaseIH combine will likely be an AFX 8010, it will be a class 7.5 with around 370hp and a 330-340bu hopper. Changes could include hydraulic drive rotor, new AFX rotor, electronic controlled sieves and screens (programmable), all new cab, longer feeder house ,bigger elevators, augers, as well as new updated cosmetics.  The AFX will be produced along with New Holland's CR combine with Twin-Rotor technology in Grand Island, Nebraska. At the same time, AFX Series combines still share a number of proven design elements with the original Axial-Flow introduced in 1977.

New Holland is set to release an all new Twin-Rotor combine . CR combines will be unmatched for threshing, separating and cleaning throughput. That's because the New Holland Twin Rotors generate unequalled centrifugal force to separate most of the grain up front  before it reaches the sieves. It's more gentle and efficient than conventional straw walker designs. And, because the grain drops directly into the grain pan, and not into a bed of augers, as with competitive models the grain is cleaned more gently. The Twin Rotor system delivers results that count-more grain in the tank, less damage and a cleaner sample. In 1975 a new era for combines began with Sperry-New Holland's Twin Rotor combine. Sperry-New Holland was a pioneer in rotary combine design, using two rotors, spinning in opposite directions to move the crop rearward in a spiraling motion against threshing and separating grates that surround the rotors. There will be 4 CR models. They will include the CR920, 255 hp, 205 bu; CR940, 295 hp, 255 bu / 300 bu optional; CR960,
330 hp, 300 bu and the big CR970, 370 hp, 300 bu.

The "blue STX" line for New Holland is known as the "TJ" series of 4WDs. The line includes  4 models-the TJ 275/325/375/450s. Some changes from their counterparts are the New Holland "MegaFlow" hydraulic system, capable of up to 90 GPM hydraulic flow, as well as up to 7 remote valves available. Also, a manual transmission is available in the TJ series as well. Quadtrack & Accusteer models are not available in the New Holland line. The interior is different, with the background behind the hydraulic controls & instrument panel in "New Holland blue", instead of Case's dark gray background. Also, the steering console is more rounded than Case's, with round air louvers instead of Case's rectangular ones. The hood looks different due to the headlights being mounted high, not low like the STX. Also, the rear fenders are more rounded than on an STX.

Case IH STX Series Steiger tractors are changing the way farmers think about four-wheel-drive 4WD tractors.  With new advancements in steering, diagnostics, track design, comfort and serviceability, as well as the industry's highest horsepower rating, STX Series tractors offer farmers the most versatile tractor line on the market. STX Series tractors come in five horsepower (hp) ranges, the STX275 (275 engine hp), STX325 (325 engine hp), STX375 (375 engine hp) STX425 (425 engine hp) and the STX450 (450 engine hp). The STX 375, STX425 and STX450 Quadtrac tractors are unique to the CaseIH line. They use four independent tracks with positive drive to deliver more traction with less slippage.  The additional surface area of four tracks puts more power to the ground, plus gives greater flotation with less compaction. Specially designed versions of the STX Series line are built to handle the demanding duties of pull-type scrapers in soil-moving applications.  With heavy-duty axles and a reinforced frame, these versions of the STX375, STX425 and STX450 wheel and Quadtrac tractors offer valuable versatility and lasting reliability.
