Home Up Magnum Maxxum Mark 50 MX 270 MX 285 MX 235

CaseIH MX 270

CaseIH set a new horse power bench mark in 1998 when the 235 hp MX 270 was introduced.  This larger model uses Case 24-valve OHV engines designed for higher horsepower. The MX270 engine offers a  33.4 PTO hp power growth to 270 hp. The MX270 engine is air-to-air after cooled with a full-authority electronic fuel-control system. The efficient, high-performance engine incorporates four valves per cylinder for improved fuel economy and more power.  The MX 270 sleek styling was a big step forward from past Magnums and with its long front end reminds many red fans of the International Harvester 2+2 series. Could CaseIH introduce a bend in the middle Magnum in the future? It does not seem to be a far stretch of the imagination looking at current MX270's frame and knowing row crop tractors will keep growing in horse power. Ertl first offered a 1/16 Dealer Edition MX 270 on a wooden plaque and a 1/64 collectors edition in 1998 for the introduction of MX Magnum line.  In 2000 Ertl released a 1/16 scale Collectors Edition MX 270 with front duals, rear triples and high features details such as windows, 3pt hitch, warning lights and cab mirrors.  In 2001 Ertl offered a 1/64 MX 270 with spaced rear duals.
