2594
In 1983 the 180hp 2594 with a fresh new paint scheme replaced the 2590 which was rated at the same horse power. The 2594 had several improvements including new electronic transmission controls, a 24-speed power shift transmission, and a new electronic intelligence center. In 1983 new government regulations went into effect putting restrictions on the use of lead paint in manufacturing. Case used lead based paint in its power red. Rather than expending funds on upgrading the well know Case power red to the modern manufacturing standards in a slumping Ag economy the company opted to use black paint. Starting with the 94 series all Case tractors were painted white and black with red and black decals. Following the merger of the J.I. Case Ag line and International Harvester the 94 series changed colors to IH red on the body and Case black on the chassis with silver Case International decals. This 1985 change is illustrated well by the 2594's below harvesting peas with FMC harvesters in that transition year. Ertl offered a 1/16 and 1/64 Case 2594 from 1983 to 1984.
