Byron

1/64 T2 custom built by Tom Nesbit

The Byron corporation was started in 1969 and produces Sweet Corn and Pea harvesters in Byron, NY. A self-propelled sweet corn harvester of the Company’s own design was introduced in 1984, and a self-propelled green bean harvester was introduced in 1988. In the early 1990's Byron developed a tracked power unit called Track Squared or T2. The T2 was a 250hp multi purpose tractor for Ag and construction use. There is a draw bar, 5 hydraulic take offs , New Holland TR cab, front 3 point hitch (optional) and it has a hitch for liquid spreaders and dump wagons. Byron did put tracks on corn pickers and pea combines but that was dropped and recalled when they found out that the tracks had structure problems, all recalled items where fixed and put back into use. They stopped making tracks to regroup and redesign them. The T2 is also pictured in Tractors from 1975-1995. It is a very versatile machine as you can see in the pictures, for vegetable operations . Below is a Byron T2 equipped with a Knight Pro-Twin manure spreader, chemical sprayer and a design for sweet corn harvesting. This maybe a tractor for the 21st Century. C&D Models has the exclusive license from Byron to produce the 1/64 8400 Byron Sweet Corn Picker and the 1514 Dump Cart. C&D's picker/cart combo set is a highly detailed 1/64 model. Tom Nesbit custom built a T2 from two Ertl CAT VFS track sets and used Hesston sp mower cab to make an excellent 1/54 T2 model.
