Black Knight

Black Knight Demonstrator models had distinctive black paint and gold
decaling instead of the normal desert sunset colors. This altered appearance
was used to make the models highly visible. This marketing strategy was
used by Case dealers to demo the new Agri-King line introduced in 1970. The
idea was to have dealers actively demonstrate tractor models from the 970 to
TK 1470 that were properly serviced, weighted, and fitted. On an historical
note, in 1970 the "Old Abe" Case logo was retired and the Agri-King tractors
were the first models from Case to use the new track or plate Case logo. Ertl produced a 1/16 scale Black Knight Agri-King which can bring over $1,000 new in the box today. Ertl also produced an 1170 Case as a Black Knight model in 1/32 scale in 1997.
