The McConnell Marc

The AGCOSTAR traces its roots to the McConnell Marc 4wd. Massey Ferguson developed the 5200 and in 1992 sold their 4wd line to McConnell-Marc which was based in Georgia. The McConnell Marc 4wd shared the same design that Massey Ferguson developed. There were two McConnell Marc 4wds.  The 9o0 was powered by a 320 hp Detroit Diesel  engine and the big 1000 was the first 425 hp 4wd from a main stream ag company.  The McConnell Marc cab was very luxurious and even had a phone built in it before the age of cell phones came in during the late 1990's.   AGCO purchased McConnell-Marc 4wd line was sold as the AGCOSTAR staring in 1995.  AGCO developed an updated body and cab for the AGCOSTAR.  There rumor is that AGCO may sell their next series of 4wds under the MF label. The 1/64 McConnell Marc above was custom built by Dan Adamson.
