Home Up Plow Field Cultivator Drills The Cyclo Air Planter

The Cyclo Air Planter is a drum planter with a seed-metering system with only three moving parts: the seed drum, the seed cut-off brush, and the seed release wheel assembly. This planter concept allows accurate planting of irregular sized seeds. The Cyclo also offers a single large hopper that reduces fill time. In the 1980's IH introduced the Early Riser planters that offered a narrower seed trench, with more precise seed placement. The model pictured is a 1984 IH 800 Cyclo Air 12 row trailing horizontal rear-fold frame matched with a 187 hp 2wd 5488 tractor. After the 1985 merger of IH and J.I. Case, the Cyclo Air line survived and was updated to the 900 series in 1987. In 1988 Fortune magazine picked the Early Riser planter as one of the 100-best American Products. Ertl offered a 1/64 4 row International Cyclo air planter in 1985. In 1991 a Case International 12 row 900 Cyclo Air Planter was offered by Ertl as well as a 1/16 4 row model.
