Baby IH 66

In 1971 the popular IH Farmall 656 was replaced by an updated body
style and labeled 666. The 666 was an ideal size to serve as valuable power
when higher horsepower tractors were tied up in the field, or in smaller
operations where the tractor was more than able to carry the full power
load. It came with a choice of a 312 cu. in. diesel or a 291 cu. in.
gasoline engine rated at 66.5 hp. The 666 came with a wide front or narrow
front tricycle front end. This model was one of the last International
tractors to be sold with a tricycle front end option. In 1977 the 686 took
over the mid-sized 2wd tractor spot from the 666 in the IH line up. Ertl has offered the IH 666 model in 1/32 since 1972. the early models were sold as a tricycle model like the 656 toy it replaced.  Over the years it has been offered in different sets including a Campbell's Soup set.
