9100 Series Four-Wheel Drive Tractors

The 1987 Case International Buyers Guide proclaimed, " Now Case IH brings
the ultimate in articulated-steering technology into the fold: The Steiger
line." The popular Cougar 1000 became the 9150. With the 9150 a farmer got
power to spare in a tractor designed to cut down on field time. Equipped
with a 280 hp engine, 12 speed powershift transmission, and a Category III
hitch. The 9150 was able to handle large field equipment and work on
construction sites pulling scrapper pans. For a short time Case
International marketed 9100 Case IH models and red 9100 models with Steiger
decals. A farmer could purchase the following:

9110 PUMA 200 horsepower
9130 WILDCAT 220 horsepower
9150 COUGAR 280 horsepower
9170 PANTHER 335 horsepower
9180 LION 375 horsepower
9190 TIGER

525 horsepower

In 1990 the 9200 series replaced the 9100 models. Case International dropped
the 525 hp 90 model. Farmers first had to order the 9190 and then it was
assembled at the North Dakota factory. It often took up to two years to
deliver the 4wd to the customer. The 9280 was the top of the line 4wd until
1995. In 1996 the 9300 series debuted, and in 1997 the 425 hp 9390 was added
to the line. Also the Steiger name and badge returned on the 9300's. CaseIH
also introduced the unique design of the QUADTRAC tractor that provided
improved flotation and traction with minimal compaction.
