AC's own 4wd
The Rising Power in Farming could be said not only an Allis-Chalmers theme but a theme of Agriculture power in the 1970's. Bigger and better 4wds were on every manufacturers list. In 1976 Allis-Chalmers switched from an outside source for 4wd to a company designed model in the 7000 series family. The 7580 was an 186hp tractor. Bigger is better and many brands were going bigger so in 1977 AC rolled out with 253 hp 8550 called the Super Beast. AC was also working on an 800hp 4wd at one time.
