John Deere 8520
In 2002 John Deere released an all new horse power leader with a new look to lead its high horsepower row crop tractors. John Deere 8020 Series tractors feature the reliable and proven 6081H engines. The 8520 rates at a whopping 255hp. These air-to-air 8.1 Liter aspiration engines deliver constant power with a power bulge feature and excellent torque characteristics. The 8520's 16-speed PowerShift transmission allows speeds ranging from 1.2 to 26 mph. The new John Deere Independent Link Suspension (ILS) provides unparalleled front axle performance on the 8520. In February 2002 Ertl released a 1/16 scale 8520 with front duals, rear triples and high features details such as windows, 3pt hitch, warning lights and cab mirrors. ERTL produced the 8520 as a Waterloo John Deere Employee Edition pictured in the above left and a Collector's Edition pictured to the right. In July 2002 Ertl released a 1/16 scale European version of the 8520 with fat singles and front weight.
