AC 4W-Series

In 1982 Allis-Chalmers introduced its second generation 4wd. The 305hp 4W-305 and the 220hp 4W-220 brought a new look and larger cab to the AC 4wd line up. The 4W-series were strong pulling articulated tractors built to plow and move earth. Change comes quickly in the AG industry and the 4W-220 was displaced by the fwa 8070 which could handle anything the small 4wd  could do for $10,000 less off the dealers lot. The 4W-305 remained in production through 1985 and was dropped by the Deutz-Allis Company along with the rest of the Allis-Chalmers tractor line. Ertl produced a 1/32 Chrome collectors model and shelf 4W-305. Pictured above is a Valley-Patterns 4W-305 and a C&D Models 4W-220.
