4455

John Deere's 142hp 4455 is considered the modern day 4020. It is the pinnacle of the Sound Guard series and is well respected by farmers more than ten years after its introduction. The 4455 is a well engineered tractor that has given most owners little trouble. Deere and company originally planed to sell the 4055-4455 with 4 head lights but the final production units only had three. The original brochure pictures of the 4455 show it with four head lights. The 1/16 4455 featured the updated John Deere strobe decal  with a model number in front and company name in yellow with a black background. The 4455 came with the new 3 head light sticker as well as tail light decals. The only difference between the toy  4455 and 4255 was that it had front wheel assist. Paint changes called for the lower portion of the cab frame to be painted black, along with the panel directly under each fender and behind the wheel. The black paint also had a new flat finish instead of gloss. Ertl also stopped using rivets to attach the roofs on the 55 series models. The 4455 was a revision of the generic row crop John Deere toy tractor. The major change besides the 55 styling updates was the new wider, fwa front tires and wider rear tires.
