3688

Ever wonder what the little red IH tractor you see on every store shelf and flea market is. It is the 113hp IH 3688. The 3688  is like it's bigger brother 50 series models in styling although it lacks the top cool air flow system. The 3688 was basically an IH 986 with new sheet metal. The 3688 came  with 2wd or fwa open station, 4 post ROPS or full Cab. The 1/16 3688 was first offered by Ertl on 1984 and has since been offered in farm toy several sets and generic store variations. The 3688 is an open station toy and features an international decal but not a model number so a young rug farmer can pretend it is a 3088, 3288, 3488 or 3688.
