THE 2166 AXIAL-FLOW COMBINE

In 1995 J.I. Case had two major changes. Tenneco ended its 30 year affiliation with J.I. Case that began in 1965 leaving the independent and newly formed Case Corporation. All Case agricultural equipment was labeled CaseIH. Also in 1995 CaseIH redesigned the Axial-Flow Combines with greater grain capacity and an improved cab. This was the first major design change on the Axial-Flow since 1977. The 2100 new series was comprised by the 2188, 2166, and 2144. The 2166 was one of new Axial-Flows to bear the new CaseIH name. At 215 hp the 2155 was the middle entry to the 2100 series. The key improvement of the 2166 over the 1666 was the new cab which was expanded over eight inches and its curved glass windshields provided unrivaled visibility.  The 1/32 CaseIH 2166 was released by Ertl in July 1995.  The replica featured he new Axial-Flow look and numerous moving parts including inter changeable heads, auger and trash whippers. Ertl also released a 1/64 2166 featuring an 8 row corn head, 22ft grain head and rear wheel assist.
